What exactly IS vintage?

Vin.tage (adj)(noun)(verb) ‘A year or period of origin: representing the high quality of a past time’

Our handpicked garments are all over 20 years old and many are likely to have had several previous owners. All our items have been chosen for their unique style, quality and individuality. If a garment has a minor flaw it will be detailed in the items description. Due to the age and several lifetimes garments have had, they may have a very slight ‘musty’ scent, don’t worry this is normal! We recommend you wash or dry clean any garments before wearing them if this is the case. (See garment care guide below)

What about garment sizes?

PLEASE NOTE: vintage clothing sizes are very different to today. Vintage dresses labeled a size 12 might actually fit a modern size 8, which is why we provide measurements for each garment so you can be sure. (This also rings true with vintage shoes) Our measurements are taken in centimeters with the garment laid flat on a firm, clean surface. Remember these are garment measurements, not body - so allow a cm or so for room between your figure and the clothing. Unsure of sizing? Take some measuring tape and measure a similar item of your own for an accurate comparison.

How do I pay?

We currently offer Paypal as a safe and secure way to transfer your money. PayPal automatically encrypts your confidential information using the Secure Sockets Layer protocol (SSL). Don’t have a paypal account? Click here to sign up, it doesn’t take long and it’s free! If you wish to pay by cheque, please get in touch.

How long will delivery take?

For the UK, all items will be processed and shipped within 3 days of purchase, on a standard delivery which will take 2-3 days at our flat postage rate. For international deliveries, please expect to wait 4 – 10 days for your order to reach you. For flat postage pricing see our shipping page.

Do you accept returns?

We strive to describe our items accurately and provide detailed measurements and images of all our items, so we ask that you check sizing before you place your order. However, we know that vintage garments can be unusual fits for modern shapes and sizes, so we do accept returns.

Items must be returned to us in their original condition within 7 days of receipt, and we will provide a returns address label with your purchase along with a copy of our full returns policy. Once items are returned and checked, you will receive a full refund directly into your paypal account and notified of this.

How do I care for vintage items?

Unfortunately vintage clothing is unlikely to have a care instructions tag so you may have to use your discretion when deciding how to clean your treasured vintage. Some items may be washed at home depending on their material, age, and detailing, others may require professional cleaning.

(Handy Cherry hint: If a garment is made of wool, velvet, or silk, has lining, beading, embroidery, sequins, or is appliquéd, it should most likely be dry-cleaned.)

2. During the checkout process you will be given the opportunity to check your order and correct any errors. We will send you an order acknowledgement, detailing the products you have ordered.
3. We may refuse to accept an order if we cannot obtain authorisation for your payment
4. We only accept returns within 7 days from when you receive your order. Any refunds that are activated will be issued through Paypal, upon receipt of the item in the exact condition it was sent.
